JR - Ellis trailer by JoFF Rae

This is the trailer for ELLIS, a short film starring Robert De Niro, written by Eric Roth, directed by JR. The short narrative film, ELLIS, awakens our collective memory. Leaving their past behind them, immigrants fleeing poverty, discrimination, dictatorship arrived there. Ellis Island was the gateway to the United States for millions of immigrants. Upon arrival, they were processed, approved or denied access. Due to sickness or simply tiredness, many were placed in the hospital. A purgatory of sorts, in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty, where thousands of men, women and children awaited their fate. ELLIS tells the forgotten story of these immigrants who built America while questioning about those who currently seek the same opportunities and safety in this country and other parts of the world. The short film stars Academy Award Winner Robert De Niro, was written by Academy Award winner Eric Roth and directed by the artist JR whose Unframed art installations in the abandoned Hospital complex serve as the set for this powerful and timely film.

AIRBORNE \\ A7 - Joe Blossom "The Breaking" by JoFF Rae

THE RENEGADE PEACH PROJECT presents AIRBORNE \\
A series of music video postcards set to music from home, with New Zealand based artists contributing unreleased tracks to the project. In 2015 The Renegade Peach Project ventured on a 3 month journey that began in Cambodia and wrapped in San Francisco. As we roamed, we captured hints of the streets, people, wildlife, food, and spirit of each locale before uniting our visuals with the submitted tracks. Alchemy.

Each artist was asked to provide a time of day for us to film and a keyword or colour to help us capture the essence of their track. For "The Breaking" we were given the keywords "nostalgia" and "abstract" and we were asked to capture the city under the evening sun, in the twilight.

AIRBORNE \\ A5 - Thomas Oliver "Budapest is Beautiful" by JoFF Rae

Each artist was asked to provide a time of day for us to film and a keyword or colour to help us capture the essence of their track. Thomas Oliver had initially asked us to film Budapest at dawn, which we did, but after two unremarkable mornings we stopped getting up at 4am. We found that this city saves its beauty for the sunset.

Each artist was asked to provide a time of day for us to film and a keyword or colour to help us capture the essence of their track. Big Flip The Massive's key words included "erratic/glitchy/grimey/dirty/chaotic/frantic" and we mainly filmed on location in abandoned buildings, an abandoned US spy base and an deserted swimming pool to try to capture those elements. We filmed both during the day and the evening, and played with the speed of the clips to conjure an unsettling feeling in the viewer.

Can You Solve The Bridge Riddle? by JoFF Rae

Pulling that lever with the skull symbol just to see what it did probably wasn't so smart either. But now is not the time for regrets because you need to get away from these mutant zombies...fast.
